THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League
Management Company (LMC) have sympathized with the management, players and
supporters of Lobi Stars Football Club over the untimely death of their player,
John George.
George died on Thursday in Kaduna after a brief illness,

LMC also posted on
its Twitter account, @LMCNPFL, “Our condolences to @LobiStars & family of
John George. The Lobi player, on loan from Mighty Jets, died on Thursday.”
Nigeria Premier League side, Sunshine Stars of Akure also
expressed regret over the demise of the player.
“We commiserate with @LobiStars on the death of John
George, our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family,” the Akure based
outfit said via @SunshineFCAkure.
George, a defensive midfielder, was on loan at Lobi Stars
FC of Makurdi from Mighty Jets FC of Jos and he was a regular member of the
first team.
His last game was a 2-2 home draw between Lobi Stars and
Kano Pillars last month and he had obtained permission from the Club to return
to Kaduna to treat a recurring bout of malaria, a trip he never returned from.
The Management of Mighty Jets FC of Jos said the club
received with great shock the news of George demise.
In a Statement released by the club through its Media
Officer Mbum Ferdinand, George was described as a hardworking and committed
professional who was always respectful to Officials and Colleagues alike.
Mighty Jets would discuss with Lobi Stars and the
player's family on the plans and arrangements as regards his burial.
