NIGERIA international, Kelechi Iheanacho is in cloud nine after being chosen and named the Man of the Match by supporters of Manchester City on Saturday, when City beat Stoke City 4-0.
The 19 year old scored two goals to take his tally to 11 goals in 30 senior outings for The Citizens, Sportsbiz247 reports.
Fernando and Sergio Aguero fired City into a 2-0 lead at the break at the Etihad Stadium and, after a short spell of Stoke pressure, Iheanacho produced two cool finishes to round off a convincing win.
The Super Eagles forward becomes the second youngest player to score in this season’s Premier League, behind only Marcus Rashford (18).
While displaying his Man of the Match award on his official Twitter handle, Iheanacho wrote, "Man of the match today. Thanks to my team mates the manager the staffs and the fans."
The Golden Ball winner at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, who was pleased with his performance, however admitted after the game that he needs to work harder in training and during games to show his qualities.
"I'm very pleased and very happy to score goals today.
"I think I'm improving a lot," Iheanacho told Sky Sports in his post-match interview. "But I really need to work harder in training and in games to show my qualities."
"So any time I'm in I have to show my quality and work hard for the team, for the fans and for everybody."
The result moved City to third place on the log, five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United in the chase for Champions League qualification.
