THE Nigeria Football Supporters Club have made a strong
appeal to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalong, to
include the club in the newly constituted committee set up to look into the
unending crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Secretary - General of the NFSC, Rev. Sam lkpea, made
this passionate appeal during an exclusive interview in his office. He stated
that the committee set up by the minister is incomplete because the major stake
holders, particularly, the supporters club are not represented on the
committee.
"We (supporters club) feel short changed because the
minister and the football authorities have consistently over looked us,
particularly, when it comes to taking important decisions on the state of
Nigerian football," Ikpea lamented.
He continued: "We are genuine stakeholders in the
fortunes of Nigerian football. It is a fact that some of us have consistently
been following and supporting Nigerian football for more than four decades and
of course, expending time, energy and resources in the cause.
"As a matter of fact, we have top class, experienced
and well educated members in the NFSC, who can serve on such and other bodies
meritoriously," the scribe of the NFSC said.
