SUPER Eagles midfielder, John Ogu has dedicated his goal for Hapoel Beer Sheva on Saturday to his pregnant wife and unborn baby girl.
The Nigerian scored his team's opening goal in a 4-1 victory over Bnei Sakhnin in the Israeli League decided at the StadionDoha Stadium, Sportsbiz247 reports.
Firas Mugrabi had put the host in front in the 17th minute, but the celebration was cut shot by Ogu, who equalised for the visitors two minutes later.
Ogu's compatriot, Anthony Nwakaeme then doubled the lead on the 27th minute before Maor Bar Buzaglo increased the tally on the 72th minute.
Nwakaeme then put the game beyond Bnei Sakhnin with his second strike of the day.
After the encounter, Ogu took to his Instagram account to appreciate God Almighty for the victory while focusing on the State Cup semifinal game against Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday.
"Thank God for the win and for the goal. Goal dedicated to my Wife and unborn princess. Now focus on Cup semi on Wednesday," he posted alongside a picture of his goal celebration.
The 29 year old had during the week announced to the world that he is expecting his first child with his wife, Chiugo Veronica.
The former Académica player got married to his heartthrob, Chiugo Veronica Akaolisa on December 29, 2015 at the bride's home town of Ndi Ojukwu village in Anambra State, one month after exchanging vows at the Ikoyi Registry, Lagos.
Ogu was last invited to the national team under then former Coach, Stephen Keshi in the Super Eagles' first match of the 2017 Africa Nations Cup group qualifiers against Chad in June, 2015 in Kaduna which Nigeria won 2-0.
