PRIME Football Club have named Shina Afolabi as head
coach, the team announced on Monday.
Shina joined the Omoluabi
Giants in 2013/2014 season and worked as an assistant coach to the then
head coach, Abimbola Samuel.
The 'Believe and
Achieve' side has been without a substantive head coach after Abimbola's
unceremonious exist mid-season of the 2013/2014 season.
Afolabi, the former Ajiroba Ooni FC of Ile-Ife merchant
tactician was considered as head coach after the management scrutinized his
credentials alongside two other coaches in the team; Deji Ayeni and Olatunji
Baruwa.
"It's very exciting for us to name Shina Afolabi, as
the head coach of the team. He embodies all the qualities that will provide
strong leadership for our football team. He is highly experienced, deeply
passionate about winning, and relentless in trying to find ways to put his
players in the best position to succeed," club boss, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi
said.
The CAF B graded tactician was given a mandate to secure
the sole promotion ticket of Nigeria National League Group B2 and surpass the
team semi-final success in the national Federation Cup.
