NRFF commence plans for Africa Cup 15s in Morocco

THE Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has commenced plans for the Africa Cup 15s tournament which is billed for Morocco in July, 2016.

Technical Director of the federation, Fasimoye Olatunji said the technical team will have to wait till after the next executive meeting of Rugby Africa scheduled for Morocco later this month before finalizing their program.

“Rugby Africa informed us last week about meeting in Morocco to finalize plans for the event. The program is not yet finalized but a final decision should be made at their next executive meeting later this month. However, the new proposed date for the Africa Cup Tournament is 9th July to 17th July”.

The NRFF is looking at camping the Black Stallions for 10 days in Rabat, Morocco before the Tournament kicks off as they believe this will allow a proper blend of our Local and foreign based players.

“We are waiting on Rugby Africa on the actual date so we can inform all concerned and intensify our plans for the Tournament,” Fasimoye said.

The Black Stallions will face Morocco, Cameroon, and Mauritius as they seek to gain promotion into Africa Cup 1B in their bid to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
