NPFL: Sunshine Stars get cash boost ahead of Pillars clash

PLAYERS of Sunshine Stars have received cash boost ahead of their Match Day 14 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Kano Pillars in Akure on Sunday.

The President of the club, Prince John Ola Mafo gave the players some financial rewards ranging from 5,000 to 100,000 Naira in appreciation and encouragement following their hard earned 3-0 home victory over Nasarawa United in a rescheduled NPFL Week 7 match last Wednesday.

The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) boss who charged the players to remain focused on the task ahead restated his commitment to make their welfare top priority.

"I like to say congratulations for the victory over Nasarawa. I must state that we are very proud of their performance. The token given to them was just to show our appreciation and let them know that we are right behind them.

"This is not the time to relax or rest on their oars, but a time to work harder and remain focused. We must always remember our ambition this season and work towards actualizing it.

“Next on the line is to welcome Kano Pillars at home and we call on all our fans to come out en mass to cheer the state’s darling team to victory,” Mafo said.

Kano Pillars are 4th on the log with 21 points with a game in hand, while Sunshine Stars occupy the 12th position on the table after 13 games.
