SUPER Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie has declared
herself fit for this evening’s return leg of the African Women Cup of Nations
qualifier against Senegal at the Abuja National Stadium after she recovered
from the injury she sustained in Dakar during the first leg.
Oparanozie was the biggest casualties of Nigeria’s outing
in Dakar against the Teranga Lionesses; with battles scars to the face to show
for her dedication and desire to see the seven-time champions return to defend
their crown.
“I am fine now but I need to wear a bandage if I am to
play against Senegal so that they won’t be targeting the injury. The injury has
healed faster than expected and I am ready to help my country to qualify for
the Africa Women Cup of Nations as defending champions. I will wait for the directive
of the coaches and whatever I am asked to do I will be willing to do so,” the
22 year old said ahead of today’s encounter.
Earlier on Sunday, the Guingamp forward posted a picture
of herself returning from church with a Bible in hand on her Instagram account.
“Yes! I am hale and hearty, I am strong and alive, I am able and capable.
The devil's got nothing on me because I am the apple of God's eye. To the glory
of God, the battle was won. God has got me for real.
"Thanks to you all in here, your love is massive...
and it was felt. God bless you all immensely, have a beautiful Sunday and
blessed weekend," she posted along with the picture.
