MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM) Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu is satisfied with the team after beating Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 1-0 in a match day 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie on Friday night.
Stephen Odey’s 34th minute goal fired MFM to winning ways after five games winless streaks.
The Olukoya Boys gave a very good account of themselves in front of over 5,000 spectators at the Agege Stadium as they recorded their first clean sheet of the season courtesy of a clinical finish from the teenage striker.
Ilechukwu believes the scoreline could have been more than that had his players converted the numerous opportunities that came their way.
"We lost a lot of chances but I am happy we are back to winning ways," he said.
In his reaction, Wikki Tourists coach, Abdu Maikaba, says his boys played below expectation as a result of the long journey from their base.
"My boys didn't play to our full potential due to the long journey (from Lagos to Bauchi). We were lucky not to concede more than one goal," Maikaba said.
The crucial win has taken MFM FC to fourth position on the 20-team NPFL table with 19 points from 12 league matches while Wikki Tourists still occupy the seventh spot with 16 points.
