RFC and Lagos RFC recorded victories in the CMB Building Maintenance and
Inv. Co. Ltd sponsored South West Rugby League Week 4 matches held at the main bowl

Cowrie RFC showed what it takes to defend their league
title with a slim 10-7 win over Police RFC. The match which started with so
much tension saw both teams unable to create clear cut chances until in the

Ladipo crossed over the white wash for a try after he took a quick penalty tap
from the opposition twenty-two. The successful conversion by the young fly
half, Fred Ochei guaranteed the maximum 7 points for Cowrie.
With the game heading into the half time break with
Cowrie having a 7 points advantage, a defensive laps from winger, Sammy Ekpo
allowed Malik Salihu run out wide and step in for a beautiful try under the
post for Police as Samson Yahaya kicked the ball in between the upright to tie
the point at 7-7 just before the break .
Police back line opened up at every opportunity in the
second half, keeping Cowrie on the back foot before Alfred Ochei gave his side
a slender advantage with a successful penalty kick from 3 meters.
