DREAM Team VI handler, Samson Siasia on Sunday night met Super
Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi and Watford forward Odion Ighalo at Novikov Restaurant
& Bar in London over the prospect of the duo joining the Rio 2016 Olympics
bound team.
Ighalo saw 90 minute of action as Watford played an
entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland earlier in the day, while Mikel did
not feature in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against the Premier League champions
Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.
Ighalo uploaded a group picture with the national Under-23
coach taken at the restaurant located at 50A Berkeley St, London W1J 8HA,
United Kingdom on his Instagram account on Monday.
“About last night,” the Watford striker posted alongside
the picture.
SportingLife had earlier reported that Siasia has over 10
shortlisted over-aged players on the 60-players pool submitted for this year’s
Olympics and he is taking his time to know where exactly is needed to beef up
the team for the competition which he almost led the Nigerian team to the final
of the 2008 edition in Beijing, China losing the gold medal to the Lionel Messi-led
Argentina.
The coach is eyeing the gold medal of this year’s edition
and he has mapped out visitations to London, Germany, Spain and France to meet
one on one with the likely players that falls within the age bracket of the
competition and over-aged players too.
