A quality performance by Victor Okeji inspired the Omoluabi Giants to beat the non-league side 2-1 in the Federation Cup Round of 64.
In the all-important Cup tie, Prime got the opening goal after 25 minutes with Victor Okeji, setting up Lekan Agunloye to slot the ball into the net.
It was a performance that was characterized by grit and defiance, as Inneh Stars were unable to withstand the firepower of midfield maestro Hakeem Olalere and Victor Okeji attacking prowess. Prime dominated much of the encounter but lacked the cutting edge in the final third.
The 'Believe and Achieve' side got the job done in the 66th minute as Alaji Rasaq's strike at the edge of the box was deflected into the net.
Inneh Stars however reduced the deficit through Akpoh Benedict, who converted the penalty awarded his team in the added minute of the encounter.
Prime will lock horn against the winner of Kano Pillars and Gateway United in the round of 32.
Speaking with newsmen after the game, Prime coach, Shina Afolabi, expressed excitement over the mobile Benin side, and believe the win will boost his side morale ahead of Saturday Nigeria National League opener at the Oshogbo Township Stadium against Unicem Rovers.
