Quadri to handle Heartland vs Rangers clash

THE youngest FIFA-badged referee in Nigeria, Adebimpe Quadri will take charge of Sunday’s match day 20 of the Nigeria Professional Football League fixture between Heartland and Enugu Rangers at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday.

Quadri,26, is among of the match officials appointed by the Referees Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for league matches scheduled to hold this weekend across the country.

The list made available to Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com by the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Referee Association, Kelechi Mejuobi, will see Quadri handle one of the high-profile games on resumption of the second stanza.

This is the third game Quadri will be officiating this season, having handled the Match day one between Kano Pillars and Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium and Week 16 encounter involving Rivers United and Wikki Tourists at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The Heartland and Rangers clash will see NRA President, Tade Azeez from Lagos serving as Match Assessor, while both Kabir and Baoku also from Lagos will be Assistant Referee 1 and 2 respectively. Agugesi from Imo will be the Fourth Official.

The first stanza of the Oriental Derby saw the Flying Antelopes forced to a goalless draw by the Naze Millionaires at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Rangers are currently fifth on the NPFL standings with 29 points, while Heartland are in the relegation zone with just 21 points.
