NASARAWA United striker, Abdulrahman Bashir has said he
could not celebrate his goal against former team Enyimba in the Nigeria
Professional Football League Week 20 match last weekend because the Peoples'
Elephant played a major role in his career development.
Bashir joined the two-time CAF Champions League winners
three years ago from ABS (formerly Bukola Babes) where he began his football
career. He spent later part of last season on loan at Lobi Stars before moving
to the Solid Miners.
Bashir scored the winner as the Lafia based outfit came from
behind to secure a 2-1 victory over the NPFL champions at the Aper Aku Stadium
on Sunday, sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
“First and foremost I thank God for giving us the victory
over Enyimba because the game was a tough one. After they scored the first goal
in the seventh minute through Ifeanyi (George), we were not happy but we had to
rally round to get back into the game. We equalized 17 minutes later thanks to
a penalty by Esosa (Igbinoba) before I scored the winning goal.
