Dogo blames fatigue for MFM defeat

NASARAWA United head coach, Kabiru Suleiman Dogo has attributed his team’s 2-0 defeat by MFM in the Nigeria Professional Football League Week 21 encounter to fatigue.

A brace from Olatunbosun ensured the Olukoya Boys did a double on the Solid Miners this season at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday.

According to the tactician, his players were not able to play their game as they were still suffering from the long traveling after last weekend's game against Enyimba.

Nasarawa defeated the NPFL champions 2-1 at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi on Sunday, before returning to Lafia. The team then hit the road again on Monday for the midweek encounter and slept in Akure overnight before setting out for Lagos on Tuesday.

"First of all I have to thank God for everything and I want to congratulate MFM for their victory. We did not play the way we used to because of the fatigue of the players.

"We played a tough match against Enyimba last weekend and traveled almost two days later while MFM had more time to rest. This is a game that we planned to get a victory but unfortunately it changed and my boys didn't lived up to that expectation.

"I am disappointed with the way we lost the game. Sometimes even if you play well and you eventually lost a game, you will be satisfied. But today we did not play well. I know we are human being and it happens like that.

"We will go back and see what we can do to be able to achieve victory against Ifeanyi Ubah in our next game," said.
