SUPER Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is looking forward to another clean sheet when FC Ifeanyi Ubah visits
3SC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 24 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Sunday.
The Nigerian international kept a clean sheet on his debut for FC Ifeanyi Ubah in a 2-0 victory over Rivers United in NPFL Match Day 23 last weekend, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Ezenwa spent one and a half season with Sunshine Stars before joining big spending Ifeanyi Ubah during the mid-season transfer.
The former Nigeria youth international was thrown into action against Rivers United and goals in each half from Wasiu Jimoh and Ismaila Gata ensured the Mitko Dobrev's side continued their quest for continental football as they climbed up two places on the log to 11th with 30 points from 21 matches.
“It’s a great feeling to join this club, I have been wishing to play in this type of club and then my debut was a success with me keeping a clean sheet in my first game. I give God all the glory and honor,” Ezenwa said.
The former Ocean Boys of Brass and Sharks goalkeeper, who disclosed that he did not think twice before signing for the Anambra Warriors because every player of his caliber wants to player for an ambitious club like FC Ifeanyi Ubah, added that with the cooperation of every player, the club will be a great one.
“It’s a gradual process, before I made the decision to join FC Ifeanyi Ubah, I knew that they are a club with ambition and I am an ambitious person. We have quality players, both the new ones and the old ones. So with unity and understanding we are going to make a great team”, the former Heartland goalkeeper said.
Looking ahead to their next match against 3SC in Ibadan, Ezenwa is optimistic about getting a favourable result from the encounter.
“It’s going to be a great game because 3SC are a traditional club, but I believe that by the special grace of God, we will come out here with something.
“Our fans should keep playing for us, we are going to do our very best to make them happy, make them proud and by God’s grace, we won’t disappoint them.”
