MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of
Lagos held its first training session on Tuesday, 28th of June, 2016 at the
Prayer City training ground in preparation for this weekend's tie against
neighbors, Ikorodu United Football Club of Lagos.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side trained on Tuesday
morning and completed the first round of the programme that saw both the first
and second team sweating it out in a fitness training session that lasted for
about two hours. They are expected to continue until Saturday as they get set
for Sunday's match day 25 tie tagged the Lagos Derby.
Meanwhile the club’s duo of goalkeeper James Aiyeyemi and
midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi have apologized to the management, fans and
supporters of the Lagos-based team for the teams recent performance in the
Nigeria Professional Football League.
Both players put up spirited displays in their last away
match played on Sunday against Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure which they
lost by two goals to nothing.
Prior to the match decided at the Akure Township Stadium,
the Lagos-based outfit had only won a game in three matches thus, the
goalkeeper and midfield maestro thought it wise to apologize on behalf their
teammates to the club’s faithfuls who have been supporting them since their
sojourn in the NPFL.
Speaking to the club's official website James said,
"I want to use this opportunity to apologize to the management of the club
and to our supporters. I want to assure them that we will bounce back from our
game against Ikorodu United," he said.
On his part, Ifeanyi said, "I want to say a very big
thank you to our management led by Mr. Godwin Enakhena for showing us so much
love despite losing four consecutive league matches. We the players are looking
forward to paying him back with victory this weekend and to our fans I want to
say that they should continue to get behind us, we will make them proud
again," he concluded.
MFM FC will host Ikorodu United Football Club of Lagos on
Sunday at the Agege Township Stadium in match day 24 of the NPFL tagged the
Lagos Derby.
