NIGERIAN Under-23 and Anderlecht of Belgium forward, Imoh
Ezekiel is optimistic the Dream Team VI will excel at the football event of the
Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, the former Standard Liege
striker who featured in the Olympic team’s 1-1 draw against Brazil in an international
friendly in March said the Coach Samson Siasia-led side are capable of going
far in the tourney.
Nigeria won gold at the football event of the Atlanta ’96
Olympic Games in USA and the 22 year old has already tipped the current team as
one of the favourites for the gold medal.
“The Dream Team IV
will excel in Rio Olympics, I am very sure. I was part of the squad that played
against Brazil in an international friendly in Rio two months ago and can
testify that there are lots of good players in the team. So I have no doubt
about the players’ potentials,” Ezekiel told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
“What the team needs is luck, work hard and understanding
between the professionals and the home based players. I am sure we shall go far
in the championship,” Ezekiel said.
The Nigeria are in Group B, along with Colombia, Sweden
and Japan for men's football events of the Summer Olympics which gets underway
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
