THE Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria has called
on all football stakeholders to immediately commence a special fasting and
prayers for the football fraternity following the death of two football icons
within the space of three days.
The association said it received the sad news of the
reported death of the NFF technical director, Mr Amodu Shuaibu with a rude
shock and a heavy heart.
In a statement on Saturday jointly signed by the Chairman
Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Executive secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka, the association
said the shocking news of Amodu's death was devastating, as members of the
Association were yet to recover from the recent death of former Super Eagles
captain/coach late Stephen Keshi.
The club owners stressed that the death of the two former
super Eagles coaches calls for a sober reflection within the sector,” the
statement said.
The association further advised football stakeholders to
embrace routine exercise and medical check-up, both for the active and non
active sports personnel, as the rate of heart related problems were becoming
rampant in the society today.
The association sympathized with the NFF, the. Coaches
Association, football stakeholders, friends and family members of the late
coach and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and give those he left
behind the fortitude to bear the loss . the statement concluded
