addressing members of late Amodu's family on Saturday.
THE Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has revealed that two out of the children of late Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu will be given automatic employment by the federal government of Nigeria.

Dalung stated this at the eight-day fidau prayer in honour of late Amodu held at the deceased’s residence at 41b, Adegoke Street, off Alhaji Masha Street, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The minister of sports assured that the former former BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, Shooting Stars and Orlando Pirates technician will be immortalized by the government.

“Coach Amodu was a national asset and so he was a property of the federal government of Nigeria. If he was not a muslim and was buried according to Islamic right, we would have organized a befitting national burial for him. Of course we cannot exhume his body.

“So we are going to develop a memo to the federal executive council of Nigeria which has the power to recognize and reward accordingly every son of this country who has left his footprint in the sand of success, we would definitely immortalize him.

“I’ve asked the director of National Institute of sports to get two of his children employment within that organization so that it can support them to be able to complete their education. I think by so doing, it would be able to sustain them pending when government will take a decision finally on what to do for him,” Dalung said.

Lat Amodu, who qualified the Super Eagles for the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and won two Cup of Nations bronze medals in a four –time stint, and also qualified the Beach Soccer National Team for the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, died in his sleep in Benin City in the early hours of Saturday last week.

He was buried the same day in his home –town, Okpella in Edo State.
