Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi have expressed concern over the current position of the club in the ongoing campaign.

Wikki lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars in the NPFL matchday 12 encounter at the Akure Township Stadium last weekend and are placed 19th on the log with 11 points after 10 matches.

Ambrose Onyema was the hero for the Owena Waves as his goal was enough to see off the Tourists and condemn the visitors to their 5th loss of the season, reports Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.

In a post on its official Facebook page after the game on Sunday, the club blame I'll luck for the loss as they at least deserved a point from the encounter.

"Wikki Tourists FC  today played one of its best away games since the beginning of the season, every player was up and doing wanting to grab their first away point but it was not to be due to ill luck.

"The season is progressing while points are being lost and the position of the club in the league table disturbing.

"This is certainly not a good time for the Club, but we should keep hope alive believing in God that soon the situation will change for good, it takes patience, prayers and perseverance to succeed, God time is always the best," the club said.

Also the Media Officer of Wikki, Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi, who commended the center referee for their game against Sunshine Stars, Ukah Ndubisi for good officiating, urged fans to continue to stand with the club at this trying time.

"Sunshine Stars beat Wikki tourists  by one goal to nil in the match day 12 in Akure, it was good goal and Wikki boys also played their hearts to equalize but their effort was not enough to give them even a point, despite our loss, I must commend the centre referee Mr Ukah Ndubisi for his wonderful officiating," Kobi said.
