Rabiu Alli spoils Remo Stars party

RABIU Alli's 86th minute long range shot denied Remo Stars from getting maximum points against Kano Pillars in the MatchDay 11 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL) decided at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu on Wednesday.

Victor Mbaoma had given the Sky Blue Stars the lead in the 35th minute, but a late strike by Alli ensured the  Sai Masu Gida boys went home with a point.

Both teams started averagely and took them 10 minutes to settle into the game with Alli having the  first chance to put the visitors ahead but he ballooned the ball.

The home side then came close in the 11th minute with Oche Salefu's chance stopped by Danladi Isah.

Alli had another chance that hit the upright before Awazie Ekene connected well from Oche Salefu's pass and Isah Danladi denies with a brilliant save.

Mbaoma takes his goal tally to 6 after Oche Salefu's shot spills over to him to calmly slot in for the Sky Blue Stars.

Oche Salefu builds up for Mbaoma, passes the ball to Awazie Ekene but his shot was to weak to extend the lead for Remo Stars.

In quick succession, Martaba Umar had clear chances to give the home side the lead again, Isah Danladi was too quick to rescue for the Sai Masu Gida boys.

The game got more interesting in the 56th minutes with great saves from Walbe David and Osas Oknuoghae to deny Rabiu Alli and Amos Gyang from getting the equaliser.

Numerous chances were missed by the Sky Blue Stars when Oche Salefu nods from a corner kick and Martaba Umar gets the shot over the bar.

The equalizer however came just four minutes to the end of the game from Alli to deny Coach Fatai Osho from recording his first victory since taking charge of the team.
