Runaway leaders of the Barclays English Premier League, Chelsea FC of London’s manager Antonio Conte has revealed that Nigeria international Victor Moses has the desire to fight during matches, a trait which informed the signing of the new deal that lapses in 2021.

Conte described the Nigerian as a really good guy, who contract renewal wasn’t a personal gift.

The Italian manager disclosed that the 26 year old deserves to be rewarded with new contract at the London club stressing that: "When I saw him during pre-season I was very pleased with him, I told him to stay all season, and he told me he wanted to stay, prove himself and that he was ready to play for Chelsea.

"It's right to say Moses deserves a new contract, he is a really good guy – a good player with great technique and desire to fight. No-one person gifted him anything, he deserved it," Conte said in a press conference on Friday ahead of this weekend’s game against West Ham United.

Moses signed a two-year contract extension with Premier League table-topping side that will keep him at the club until 2021, completing a remarkable turnaround in his Blues career.

The wing-back has been a regular under Conte after establishing himself at Chelsea, having spent the majority of his five years at Stamford Bridge away from the club on loan.
