NIGER Tornadoes Coach, Abubakar Bala has hailed the performance of his boys following their 2-0 victory over visiting Nasarawa United on match day 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League held at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Sunday.
Bala said that he told his boys not to give a breathing space to the visitors as they have quality players and tactically discipline.
He said that his wards were quick to react as such were winning the balls in the midfield.
“You can see that the team is playing as a unit together, my boys did not give any room for Nasarawa United players to play," he said.
He said that his boys did well and adhered to the tactics as instructed.
The Ikon Allah gaffer said that Solid Miners played well but was happy that his players were able to remain discipline to outclass their opponent.
On Tornadoes away match to Elkanemi Warriors next weekend, Coach Bala said his team has what it takes to end the home winning streak of the Maiduguri based side.
He said that people should believe on his youthful side as they have already caused some surprises in the league.
Also reacting, Nasarawa United bosso, Kabiru Dogo said that he was happy with his boys’ performance, admitting that his boys did not take their chances while the home team buried theirs.
Dogo said that he has now pushed his attention to his next home game against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia.
Musa Abdullahi Wakili got the first goal via spot kick in the first half following a foul committed on Peter Momoh, the former Kaduna United player making his debut.
Wakili turned out to be the provider of the second goal in the 60th minute of play after he dribbled the past the Solid Miners defenders to lay a pass to onrushing Ebenezer Odeyemi who came as substitute to seal victory for the Minna Landlords.
Niger Tornadoes now sits 6th on the log with 18 points from 12 matches while Nasarawa United are15th on the log from same numbers of matches.
