Olatunbosun delighted with match-winning free kick

By Akeem Lawal
MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM FC) forward, Sikiru Olatunbosun has told SportingLife he is delighted his superb free kick proved to be the match winner for the Olukoya Boys in a 2-1 win over Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 16 encounter, decided at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday.

Olatunbosun provided the assist for the first goal by Stephen Odey who took his tally to 13 goals this season before curling-in a world class free kick from the edge of the 18-yard box that gave his side 2-0 lead in the first half.

Abia Warriors reduced the deficit in the 84th minute courtesy of Sunday Adetunji, but it was too little too late for the visitors and Olatunbosun said the win has given the team more confidence.

"I am very happy for the wonderful free-kick goal that I scored, even though it has been long that I scored from a free-kick like that,” said the CNN Goal of the Week award winner.

“The win against Abia Warriors was a very good one for us and it now gives us the courage to go away and get at least a point. We are now back at the top and our target is to remain at the top until the end of the first half of the season,” Olatunbosun said.
