SUPER Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong, is delighted
to have made his 10th international appearance for the Nigeria in Thursday's
international friendly against Senegal at The Hive Stadium in London.
Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho's penalty seven
minutes from time secured a 1-1 draw with the Teranga Lions, preserving coach
Gernot Rohr's unbeaten record since he took charge of the Nigerian team.
Troost-Ekong, who had represented the Netherlands at
under-19 and under-20 youth levels, made his senior international debut for
Nigeria on 13 June 2015, playing 90 minutes in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
against Chad.
The KAA Gent defender took to his Instagram account to
thank the fans for their support throughout the encounter.
“🇳🇬 Thanks for your
great support! Good fight from the team for the draw. Proud to have played my
10th cap for Nigeria,” the Rio 2016 Olympics silver medalist said via @wtroostekong.
The 23 year old is expected to make his 11th
appearance for Nigeria when the Super Eagles take on Faso in another international
friendly on Monday.
