PLATEAU United defender, Sinbat Adams has been ruled out of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week 16 tie with Rivers United after failing to recover from head injury, SportingLife reports.

The dependable defender who sustained the injury during the 4-1 thrashing of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) in a Match Day 15, failed to recover as the Peace Boys hope to maintain their leadership position of the NPFL table.

Media Officer of the club, Albert Dakup informed SportingLife that the team will also be missing the services of two of its influential midfielders Benjamin Turba and Lazarus Fan, while two other senior players, Kabiru Umar and Anayo Ogbonna who were instrumental to the team’s revival last season are also out due to tactical reasons.

Speaking on Wednesday’s encounter scheduled to hold at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, Dakup noted that the Jos-based outfit is not underrating the Stanley Eguma side because of their current position on the league, but will accord them all the respect they deserve as their host.

Dakup said that the unpredictability of the game of football is what Rivers United is going through and he expressed optimism that the Pride of Rivers will bounce back to claim their right place in the NPFL and the CAF Confederations Cup.

He revealed that the Coach Kennedy Boboye tutored side are fully focused on picking a continental ticket at the end of the season as a sign of appreciation to the Pius Henwan led management and the number one supporter, Governor Simon Bako Lalong for his unflinching support to the team.
