midfielder, Chukwuka Onuwa has likened the team's 2-1 victory over table
toppers, Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)
matchday 14 to defeating English Premier League side, Chelsea.
A brace from Stephen Odey moved the coach Fidelis
Ilechukwu led side to second on the log with 25 points, just a point adrift
leaders, Plateau United.
In a chat with SportingLife after the encounter decided
at the Agege Stadium, Onuwa admitted that it was a hard fought victory,
considering the opposition.
"We thank God for this victory. We knew it's going
to be a tough game because they are on top of the league and they are a very
strong side and they came with a tactical formation. But at the end God gave us
the day. It's like beating Chelsea. They are number one in Nigeria and I really
appreciate God for it," Onuwa told SportingLife.
"I'll admit that they took over the midfield in the
second half but we recovered towards the end of the game and that was when we
scored the goal," Onuwa said.
