Plateau Utd will beat MFM in Lagos again, says Umar

By Akeem Lawal
PLATEAU United forward, Kabir Umar has expressed confidence that the Jos outfit will record yet another victory over Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM FC) when both sides clash in Sundays Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 14 encounter billed for Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The Peace Boys recorded a 1-0 victory over Olukoya Boys during their last visit to the ‘Soccer Temple’ last season and Umar told SportingLife that they are once again in Lagos to secure the maximum points at stake.

“Honestly we will give them good fight. We are here to fight for the three points at stake. We have tasked each other that we won’t leave Lagos empty handed. Last season, we played draw at our home in the first round and we defeated them right there in Lagos in the second stanza. We are going for the three points at stake.

“We know that MFM is performing well this season and we too are doing better. So both teams will fight for the maximum points, but we have all it takes to get the job done,” he told SportingLife.

Plateau will be without Coach Kennedy Boboye who has been handed a touchline suspension by the League Management Company and Umar assures that the team will not be distracted by the issue.

“We are only focused on the match, even if Coach Boboye is not on the bench, we have others in the technical team that can dish out instructions to the players and we will execute them”, the former JUTH FC goal poacher assured .

Plateau United currently sit on top of the league table with 25 points, four points above 3rd placed MFM.
