Nwakali delighted to train with Arsenal first team

NIGERIA youngster, Kelechi Nwakali is in cloud nine after training with the first team of Arsenal at the Arsenal Training Centre in London Colney on Wednesday morning.


The Nigeria Under-20 captain and other Arsenal summer signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez joined the rest of the squad in training as they prepared to face Southampton on Saturday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Nigerian midfielder while expressing his happiness at training with the first team also revealed that he will be traveling to Netherlands this week ahead of his loan deal at Dutch second division side, MVV Maastricht.



“Overwhelmed to have trained with the first team today! By the grace of God I will be flying to the Netherlands this week️🙏⚽️,” he posted on his Twitter account.

The 18 year old also posted an another picture of himself in action against Arsenal left back, Nacho Monreal during the training session. “Me and my bro @_nachomonreal,” he said along with the picture.

Manager Arsene Wenger received an injury boost with the return of Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi to training.

The young Nigerian suffered a thigh injury in the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool last month but has recovered and could be back to face the Saints.

Aaron Ramsey was absent from training as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott were also involved at London Colney.
