EL KANEMI Warriors striker, Ibrahim Mustapha is looking forward
to increase his goals tally in the club’s remaining games of the 2015/2016 Nigeria
Professional Football League (NPFL) season after scoring his 10th goal of the
season last weekend.
Mustapha’s ninth minute match-winner proved adequate to
hand the Maiduguri Warriors three points as they defeated Heartland 1-0 in a
rescheduled NPFL matchday 35 clash at the Maiduguri Township Stadium on
Saturday.
The victory over the Naze Millionaires was the hosts’
12th straight home win and in a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Mustapha
said securing the match full points were very important.
“The match against Heartland was a tough one and I am
happy to score the winning goal which gave us the all important three points
which moved us up the table. I must commend my team mate for the fighting
spirit.
“Though my target
was to be among the top scorers at the end the season or even win the highest
goal scorer award. However could not achieve my aim because I miss some matches,
but thank God I am back with the team. I see myself scoring in the remaining
matches but all I am after now is for us to end the league in good position,”
the club’s leading goal scorer declares.
Mustapha has the opportunity to add to his tally when El Kanemi take on neighbours, Kano Pillars in Kano on Wednesday in a rescheduled NPFL match 36 encounter.
