KANO Pillars towering defender, Jamiu Alimi is delighted
to be part of Super Eagles squad under the new German manager, Gernot Rohr.
Alimi was an unused substitute as Nigerian defeated Tanzania
1-0 in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Nest of Champions in Uyo last
weekend.
The former Shooting Stars defender who has returned to
Kano Pillars ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week 35 game
against Ikorodu United this weekend took to his Twitter account to share his
excitement at representing his country.
A former Flying Eagles player, Alimi said he is looking
to be included in the Super Eagles squad for the crucial World Cup qualifiers
against Zambia.
“I am back with Kano Pillars after the exciting moment
with @NGSuperEagles and the new manager Gernot Rohr. I appreciate everyone
support.
“I'm honoured to play under @NGSuperEagles coach, Gernot
Rohr, to represent my dear country. I'm looking forward to the World Cup
Qualifiers.
“I want to assure Nigerians we won't fail them this time.
It is a new era and we are focus, ambitious and ready to give our best,” he
said @JamiuAlimi6.
Nigeria are in group B of the 2018 World Cup qualifying
series with Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.
