AKWA United goalkeeper, Ojo Olorunleke has said that he
is happy to begin his career with the club on a bright note after helping the
team secure a goalless draw against Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM FC) in the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) matchday 20 at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
Olorunleke who joined the Promise Keepers from Sunshine
Stars during the mid-season transfer put up some heroic saves against the
Olukoya Boys and even intimidated NPFL top scorer, Stephen Odey to miss the
penalty awarded to the home side.
In a post match chat with SportingLife, Olorunleke who revealed that he is now at home with the Uyo based outfit, said
his target now is the league title.
"I feel so great making a clean sheet. Because I serve
a living God, a God that is too faithful to fail, I call upon him before this
match and as you can see, the prayer is answered.
"I came with the mind of not conceding any goal and
of course win the match as well. I thank God for how it ended, this is just the
beginning and hopefully with the help of God I will continue this way.
"I knew I was going to save it, that is the believe
I had in my mind. It is either he plays it over the bar or I catch it and as
you can see, God answered. My kneeling down is talking to God that I either
save it or he misses the penalty and thank God he missed the ball.
"I'm enjoying myself and I feel at home, they are
very lovely people. They are one of those people that gave me the confidence. The
way they welcome me, I just have to go there and at least pay them back for all
the things they have done in Uyo.
"My target is to win the league or at least make the
top three to crown our efforts," Olorunleke told Sportinglife.
The draw takes Akwa United to 6th position on the log
with 30 points, while MFM maintained the second position with 34 points after
20 games.
