LEICESTER City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi and Austria Wien
point-man, Kayode Olanrewaju have joined the Super Eagles camp in Paris, France
ahead of their international friendly with Togo on June 1, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Their arrival was announced on Saturday via the Twitter account of
the national team while giving updates on the team’s camp in France.
“We've arrived safely at Hyatt Regency, Paris. 2nd phase
of preparations for 2019 AFCON qualifier vs South Africa begins. Guess who is
here?
“The latest arrivals in camp. #SoarSuperEagles,” the
verified Super Eagles account @NGSuperEagles said along with the pictures of
both players.
Ndidi and Olanrewaju were some of the players that missed
Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Corsica in a practice game at the Stade Francois Coty
on Friday night.
Jean-Jacques Mandrichi had put the Corsicans in front in the
half before Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho levelled matters late in
the game from the spot.
The arrival of both Ndidi and Olanrewaju will no doubt
give Coach Gernot Rohr more options ahead of the friendly against Togo which
also serves as preparations for the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Bafana Bafana of
South Africa in Uyo.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that while Ndidi was voted Leicester City's Young Player of the Year, Olanrewaju
is now top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga after netting 17 goals this season to help his team secure UEFA Europa League ticket.
