GOMBE United goalkeeper, Emmanuel Fabiyi has hit out at
those responsible for attacking him during their Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) rescheduled Match Day 19 fixture against Rangers International
which ended 3-3, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Benin international who uploaded pictures of the brutalised
part of his head on his Facebook page on Monday, claims supporters were
instructed to attack him.
“I believe by now you will be happy for the pains your
gangs put me through just because you are fighting for what is not yours. You can’t
wait for your time and the best thing for you is to bring a player like you
down and to turn the fans against me.
“I think you see what you have caused the team now. Why are
you trying to paint my name bad. But God print it for me. A day to the game you
pretend and collected my Jersey in my room before the game and still come back
to collect my pest. Don’t know that you have your mission as for you and those talking
bad about me the nemesis shall follow you all. Even when there is no darkness
star well shine.##king”, the former Shooting Stars shot stopper said along with
the picture.
In a summary jurisdiction notice issued to the club last
weekend, Gombe United were cited for breach of Rules B.13.18, C9 and C1, the
League Management Company had imposed a fine totaling N3.25M including a two
home match stadium closure to supporters, funding the medical expenses of the
goalkeeper Fabiyi and also ensuring that the supporters who assaulted the
goalkeeper are apprehended and handed over to the Police for prosecution.
