TOP Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club sides
including Ifeayi Ubah, Kano Pillars, Plateau United, Akwa United and Rivers
United have reportedly signified their intention to secure the services of
in-form Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper, Mustapha Aliko.
The highly rated shot stopper kept seven clean sheets to
help Ikon Allah to 4th spot on the log with 30 points at the end of the
first stanza of the season.
When contacted, Aliko who admitted to Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com that some
of the big clubs have contacted him but he turned down their offers said he remained
committed to Tornadoes as they hope to secure a continental ticket at the end
of the season.
“It is true that five big clubs are interested in my
services but I won’t reveal their identity to you for one reason or the other. I
am not ready for any move now because of my relationship with our coach, Abubakar
Bala. He is my childhood coach and I don't want to leave because of money. If
it comes naturally, fine, but I will not leave because of money. You will be
surprised with the offers I'm receiving from those clubs as I remained focus on
Tornadoes right now.
“Our plan was to surpass the performance of last season
where we finished 11th and we want to do better than that this time around. We are
looking at securing a continental ticket at the end of this season,” the Niger
Tornadoes captain told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
