HAPOEL Beer Sheva of Israel midfielder, John Ogu has
ruled himself out of Super Eagles camp in France due to visa issues, sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The 29 year old enjoyed a successful season in the Israeli
Premier League where he led his Israeli outfit to retain the league trophy they
won last season.
Ogu has already been invited alongside 24 others for
Nigeria’s two international friendly matches against the senior national teams
of Corsica and Togo in France ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
against South Africa in Uyo next month.
“I have little problem, I might not go to France because I
have issues with my visa. The problem is not from the national team, they did
everything. The problem is from my club, it’s just a little misunderstanding.
Hopefully the coach will get to understand and put me through to the game
against South Africa. I don’t think I will make it to France and the coach is
aware of the situation,” Ogu revealed to Sports Zone a Lagos based radio
station sports programme on Monday.
Super Eagles who are expected to arrive France on May 22
will confront Corsica on Friday, May 26 at the Stade Francois Coty in Ajaccio.
Six days later, the three-time African kings will face
Togo at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret in Paris.
The Super Eagles will face Bafana Bafana in the Afcon
2019 qualifier opener at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on June 10.
