Uwa gets 3-game suspension without pay

TECHNICAL Adviser of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, Godwin Uwua has been suspended for three matches without pay in the aftermath of the team’s goalless draw in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 7 against Katsina.


The Board of Lobi stars FC approved the suspension of the coach following their meeting on Monday.

In a letter signed by the secretary of the board Mr. Terzungwe Chugh, dated 13/2/2017 and addressed to Chief Godwin Uwua, directed him to handover the team to his immediate assistant, Coach Evans Ogenyi. 

“Coach Godwin Uwua is suspended for three weeks and Assistant Coach Evans Ogenyi has been directed to take over pending when the former Under 20 National team handler will return from suspension,” the club said.

The Makurdi-based team have had an average start to the NPFL campaign as they have won three out of their seven league games. The team is placed 8th on the league table with 11 points.
