NIGERIA international, Obafemi Martins believes his striking
partnership with Argentine striker, Carlos Tevez is looking good for the future
of Chinese Super League outfit, Shanghai Shenhua.
Tevez joined big-spending Shenshua in December 2016 after
signing a whopping $41million-a-year contract from Boca Junior to become the
world’s highest-paid football player.
Martins and the former Manchester City star have already
operated effectively for Shenhua as the duo hit target in Wednesday's 3-0
victory Sydney United in a friendly to help the Chinese club prepare for its
AFC Champions League match against A-League team Brisbane Roar next week.
Former Inter Milan striker Martins opened the scoring in
the first half, before Tevez made it 2-0 with a stunning strike from 25 yards.
Martins then doubled his account to make it 3-0 and put
the game out of reach for the reigning NSW Premier League champion.
Coached by ex-Sunderland manager Gus Poyet, Shanghai also
boasts Colombian internationals Fredy Guarin and Giovanni Moreno, and Martins
believes the players are beginning to understand each other.
The Super Eagles striker uploaded a picture with the
former Manchester United and Juventus hitman on his Twitter accounts @Obafemimartins
with the caption, “Preseason continued with an excellent match against Sydney
United. Our squad is really coming together 👌
#ShanghaiShenhua”.
