Sports Ministry, Delta Govt support

THE Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) Heavyweight Champion, Godspower
Ikpide, popularly called “Power Lee De Great” has set his mind on the Allied
Independent Wrestling Federations (AIWF) Intercontinental title.
According to the rating of the AIWF, US based
international wrestling organization with affiliates from 97 different
worldwide wrestling organizations, May 27th 2017 has been fixed for Power Lee
to compete with the Insane Wrestling Alliance (IWA) heavyweight champion, Flex
Steel in a fight that has been tagged: “Clash of Champions”.
The fight is scheduled to take place in Jacksonville,
Florida and the winner of the fight will now go for the AIWF Intercontinental
title in October wherever AIWF management deems fit.
The Akiewhe Owhe Kingdom in Isoko born Nigerian, who
successfully defended his PWA African heavyweight title at Asaba Township
Stadium, Asaba, Delta State on the 1st May 2016, has cried to the Federal
Ministry of Youth and Sports, Delta State Government, Isoko illustrious sons as
well as corporate organizations to make the trip and leave Nigeria on the 5th
April 2017 to enable attend the six weeks pro-wrestling training in Alabama,
USA ahead of the main fight of May in Florida.
In a chat with SportingLife, Lee emphasized that he is
ninety nine percent ready for the duel and wants Federal Ministry of Youth and
Sports, his State government under the leadership of the Governor, Senator
(Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and Sports loving Chairman at the Delta State Sports
Commission (DSSC), Chief Tonobok Okowa to come to his aid and support him in
two areas. First, he needs financially assistance to make the trip and be able
to prepare adequately for the timely training and match, and secondly want the
state to be well represented in Florida, USA so as to be motivated and go extra
mile during the May fight.
“I demanded for six weeks training in USA to enable me
compete fairly during the AIWF Intercontinental elimination championship fight
of May 27th in Florida this year and it was granted. My request for financial
and moral support message is directed to all stakeholders, my state government,
sports loving Nigerians as well as corporate companies,” he explained.
“I will go to Alabama for six weeks training. I don’t
have financial muscle for that. My training starts April 10 and I will jet out
of Nigeria on the 5th April. I am going for acclimatization ahead of my May
fight. American talents and the organizers are already expecting me. I promise
my state of origin, the Nigerian nation and the continent of Africa, that as a
good representative and sports ambassador, I will defeat the American and be
qualified to compete for the AIWF title later in the year,” concluded Power
Lee.
