NIGERIA national team coach, Gernot Rohr believes Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho will fight back and regain his place at English Premier League side, Manchester City.

In a chat with SportingLife, the Franco-German coach said:"He is a young player, sometimes he plays and sometimes he doesn't play. I'm sure that Kelechi will come back in the team. He is a fighter, he has a good fighting spirit. I spoke with him and he is always able to comeback in this team.

"You know a young player sometimes will not be playing all the time especially when with a big club.  Iheanacho is a good athlete with a good mind and I believe that he will come back into Manchester City first team squad," Rohr assured.

Last season the Nigeria-born youngster ended the season with 14 goals, a tally only bettered by Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne.

However, Pep Guardiola 's arrival has seen the 20-year-old struggle to hold down a place in the team, with time on the pitch often reduced to substitute appearances.

With the arrival of highly rated Gabriel Jesus, Iheanacho has not been named in Manchester City’s matchday squad in four consecutive games while the Brazilian has started in three of these games even ahead of established striker, Aguero.
