Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) midfielder, Ibrahim
Babalola says the team will try as much as possible to put smiles on the faces
of the club fans by defeating Rivers United in the Nigeria Professional
Football League match day 6 encounter billed for Lekan Salami
Stadium, Adamasingba in Ibadan on Sunday.
Oluyole Warriors are currently occupying the 19th
position on the log with 4 points in 5 matches, while Rivers occupies the 5th
position with 9 points.
Three losses on the road, a win and a draw at home is not
making the home fans comfortable and this is already putting more pressure on
the team of blended old and young players.
In a chat with SportingLife, Babalola who called for continuous
support from the fans believes a win at this point in time is all that is
needed to turn around the fortunes of the team.
“This match is very important for us because we want to
put smiles on the faces of our fans. They have been standing by the team even
when we don't get the desired results and we want to show our appreciation to
them by securing victory over Rivers United on Sunday. However we urge them to
keep on supporting us as they have been doing and victory is ours," Babalola
said.
Babalola informed SportingLife that he has fully
recovered from the knock he picked during their game against Kano Pillars which
ruled him out of the last two games.
"I played the first three games of the season before
I picked a knock in our game against Kano Pillars. Right now I've recovered
from the minor injury and now ready to help the team if I am called to duty,”
Babalola told SportingLife.
