Troost-Ekong nominated for best defender award in Norway

SUPER Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has been nominated for the best defender award in the Norwegian Tippeligaen following his outstanding performance for FK Haugesund this season.


The Nigeria international, who joined the Arabs on loan from K.A.A Gent is one of three defensive players nominated for the award. Others are Bismark Gilberto Acosta of SK Brann and Rosenborg BK’s  Jonas Svensson.

The 23-year-old scored his third goal in the Norwegian topflight and was voted Man of The Match as Haugesund defeated Glimt 2-1 on Sunday to move the Andrea Loberto’s men to fourth place on the log with 44 points.

While appealing to his fans for their votes, the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist also revealed steps to be taken to vote for him via his Twitter handle.
