NIGERIAN international, Leon Balogun says he is happy to
be back in action again after featuring for FSV Mainz 05 last weekend.
Despite wearing a protective mask, the Super Eagles
defender played for 90 minutes in Mainz’s 3-0 loss to Schalke 04 in the German
Bundesliga match at the VELTINS-Arena on Sunday.
The 28-year-old defender suffered a muscle strain in Mainz's 3-2 home loss to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on September 24 and subsequently
missed Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.
This will no doubt be a cheering news to Super Eagles
coach, Gernot Rohr ahead of the next month's World Cup qualifier against Algeria,
as Balogun who is one of his most trusted defensive stalwarts got competitive
minutes under his belt after a month out.
Though not happy with the result recorded on his comeback game, the Berlin-born
defender is delighted to be back from the injury.
“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn 😕ðŸ’
Happy to be back though! #S04M05 #Bundesliga #Comeback #LB,” he said via his Twitter handle
@leonbalogun.
