ROTHERHAM United have completed the signing of Nigeria striker
Peter Osaze Odemwingie on a deal until January, subject to FA and EFL
ratification.
The 35-year-old, who becomes new boss Kenny Jackett's
first signing for the Championship strugglers, penned a deal Monday evening at
AESSEAL New York Stadium, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
“BREAKING | #rufc are delighted to announce the signing
of striker Peter Odemwingie on a deal until January,” Rotherham United said via
the club’s Twitter handle @OfficialRUFC.
He was a free agent after leaving the Potters at the end
of last season.
Odemwingie, who has won 63 caps for Nigeria, enjoyed
prolific spells for French side Lille and Russia outfit Lokomotiv Moscow before
heading to England in 2010.
He scored 31 goals in 89 appearances for West Brom but
his time at the Hawthorns turned sour following a failed transfer move to QPR
in 2013.
Odemwingie arrived at Loftus Road in his car late on
transfer deadline day in the January transfer window but was refused entry
after the two clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.
A move to Cardiff followed six months later but he was on
the move again in January 2014, this time joining Stoke.
He scored five goals for the Potters before falling out
of favour and ending last season on loan in the Championship with Bristol City.
