SUPER Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has dedicated
his goal for FK Haugesund last weekend to his grandfather, Pa Willem Troost.
The 23-year-old scored his third goal in the Norwegian
Eliteserien and was voted Man of The Match as Haugesund defeated Glimt 2-1 on
Sunday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigeria international opened the scoring for the
coach Andrea Loberto side in the 35th minute but Ole Jurgen Halvorsen
temporarily leveled the scores for the visitors a minute before half time.
Filip Kiss however secured the maximum points for The Arabs in the 56th minute
of the encounter.
Troost-Ekong then went on Twitter to dedicate the victory
to his 91-year-old grandfather who was cheering him from the stands at the
Haugesund Stadion.
“Great 3 points, tonight's goal was for my 91 year old
grandad Willem who came to watch me play today. Very happy to get MOTM!
#AnotherOne 🔑,”
he said via @wtroostekong.
Haugesund currently sit in fourth place in the
Eliteserien standings with 44 points from 28 matches.
