Martins, Onazi, others console Demba Ba after horrific leg injury

Shanghai Shenhua forward, Obafemi Martins, Lazio defender, Ogenyi Onazi, Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, Chelsea defender, Kenneth Omeruo are some of the Nigeria internationals that have sent their best wishes to Demba Ba after the striker suffered a horrendous leg-break on Sunday.

Ba, 31, collapses in agony in the 63rd minute following a challenge from Shanghai SIPG's Sun Xiang during a Chinese Super League match which Shanghai Shenhua eventually won 2-1 Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The severity of Ba's injury has shocked fans and footballers alike including Martins who came on to replace the Senegalese striker in the encounter. The Weapon of Mass destruction later visited his team mate in the hospital on Monday.

"I just want to wish him soonest recovery, it's really painful”, said the Nigerian forward.

Onazi who was pained by the player’s injury, said the whole world will continue to pray for the player’s speedy recovery.

“Very sad to see you feel that pain and injury. We will continue praying for your recovery bro. God is in control😫😫,” the Super Eagles vice captain said via his Twitter handle ‏@OnaziOgenyi.

Ighalo who was also moved by the injury simply wrote on his Instagram, “Stay strong Demba baπŸ™”.

Helsinki defender, Taye Taiwo also took to his Instagram account @king_t_t to send his get well soon message to the player.


He wrote: “Wishing you a speedy recovery Demba Ba my prayers are with you.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ @dembabafoot#dembaba”.

Omeruo also said on Instagram @omeruo, “Stay strong my good friend @dembabafoot u will get through this injury”.

Former FC Schalke 04 midfielder, Chinedu Obasi who featured alongside the injured striker while at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim  was not left out.

“Get well soon brother May God grant you the strength to go through this and come back stronger @dembabafoot πŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏπŸ’ͺ🏿πŸ’ͺ🏿πŸ’ͺ🏿πŸ’ͺ🏿,” he wrote via @Eduobasi.
