Paul Duke opened the scoring for the Oga Boys just before
half time but Bashir got the equaliser immediately after resumption of the
second half to register his sixth goal in six consecutive league matches for
the Solid Miners.
Oluwole Balogun restored Ikorodu United's lead on the
hour mark, but that lead lasted only four minutes as Samson Gbadebo headed past
goalkeeper Adamu Azeez to finish the at 2-2.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the
encounter, Bashir expressed satisfaction with the draw even though he would
have preferred the maximum points.
"It’s by the grace of Almighty Allah that I am able
to score again against Ikorodu United. This is my seventh goal in the last
eight matches and I'm so happy to have registered my name on the scorers' sheet
again. Scoring goals is what I love to do, it makes me happy," said Bashir
who is the only player among the top scorers without a penalty goal this
season.
“I would have been much more happy if we had won the
game, but all the same, half bread is better than none, we still have to thank
God that we are not leaving empty handed,” the former ABS and Enyimba striker
told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
The hard fought point took the Lafia-based side to 9th position
on the log with 37 points, 10 behind league leaders, Wikki Tourists, while
Ikorodu United are rooted at the bottom with 18 points.
