MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club
(MFM FC) midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has disclosed that he rejected offers from
top Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides including Kano Pillars,
Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers during the mid season transfer window.
Ifeanyi who has been an ever present for the Olukoya Boys with top-notch performances
in the ongoing NPFL season was also at his best as MFM defeated Ikorodu United
3-1 in the Match Day 25 decided at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter,
the former Flying Eagles midfielder said he has no intention of joining any
club in the country as he only plans to move abroad when the opportunity comes.
“Actually, at the end of the first round, there were
teams that came for me like Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves, Enyimba, Rangers but
MFM has being my home. Even if I am going to leave MFM, it will be Europe by
the special grace of God," he said.
The former Nigeria
Under-20 midfield maestro however believes he can still feature for the country’s
senior national team, Super Eagles while still playing at the Lagos based
outfit.
“Where ever you play, you can get a call up. There are
players out there in Asian countries and in African countries who are invited
to the national team. The club you play for does not matter. What matters most
is your ability and what people can see in you. Playing for MFM does not stop
me from playing in the Super Eagles.
"I was actually playing for MFM when I
went to the FIFA U-20 World Cup
in New Zealand. I believe I can play in the Super Eagles while
still playing with MFM,” he told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
