Kwara United coach, John Obuh has expressed
disappointment over the inability organizers of the ongoing Bet9ja Nigeria
National League Super Four holding in Lagos to schedule more games for the
competition.
Kwara United, Heartland FC, Go around FC and Remo Stars
who received Wild Card from organizers
following last minute withdrawal of Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturure are slugging it out for the Super Four title at the Agege Stadium.
The competition which is on knockout basis, would have
the winners of the first round ushered in to the finals and Obuh believes
playing just two games is not good enough as he was hoping to use the games to
prepare his team for the Nigeria Professional Football League match day
fixtures against Niger Tornadoes of Minna at the main bowl of the Kwara State
Stadium this weekend.
Speaking with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the Ilorin
based club lost to Go Round FC 4-2 on penalties after playing goalless at full
time in their first match decided at the Agege Stadium on Sunday, Obuh said,
“It’s a good game coming from their side, we failed to take our chances in the
first half of the game and unfortunately we had to pay for it.
“I wouldn’t say I am disappointed with our performance
but it is just unfortunate that the style of the Super Four is not what we had
expected. I remembered in the publication it was said that it was going to be
used to prepare us and that is, to play more games. How can we just
come play a game and then second game and everything is finished. We would have
stayed back because we were supposed to go for Super Six in Rivers State. We
would have had about four games in that competition. But here we are just going
to have two games.
"So it is not a good organization as far as I am concerned. I
am expecting us to play more games amongst ourselves and the notion of
preparing us would be achieved.
“We came to prepare our team, whatever the result is not
important as far as I am concerned because it gives us the opportunity to look
at where we have to adjust and make sure that at the end of Sunday (against Tornadoes)
we should be able to get our three points from our opponent,” the former Flying Eagles coach told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
